Shepherd Meets Sundance

Recently, a Shepherd University alumni used her knowledge gained from her four years spent at the University to become an award winning director.

Sarah Goodgrades, a 2011 graduate from the Department of Communications, chose to go into the world of directing upon leaving Shepherd. She has been steadily working on her career in film production and directing small independant films as a way to get her foot in the door. She has been working tirelessly for almost five years, waiting for the day her films could be seen on big screens across America.

All of her hard work has finally paid off! Sarah's film has recently been selected to appear at the Sundance Film Fesitival in Park City, Utah. The Sunfance Film Festival takes place once a year and highlights some of the best up and coming films that the entertainment world has to offer. Sarah has been chosen among some of the best and brightest to present her work and represent Shepherdstown in her own unique way.

It shows just how far a person from a small town can go in a big city!
